Reset! is a European network that brings together and supports independent cultural and media organisations.
It highlights the fragile situation and specific needs of these independent structures, which operate outside the control of public authorities and large private groups.
The network’s mission is to work collectively to redesign (reset) the cultural and media landscape in Europe and beyond—guided by the shared values of pluralism, diversity, equality, and sustainability.
By amplifying visibility and encouraging collaboration, it creates opportunities for connection and action both online and offline.
In a sector that is often fragmented and isolated, there’s an urgent need to unite, support, and empower these actors to reach critical mass and gain transnational recognition.
Fully committed to building a new model, the network advocates for resilience and recovery in a field continuously affected by ongoing crises.
It brings together a wide spectrum of independent cultural and media initiatives—venues, festivals, community radios, cinemas, bookshops, artistic hubs, booking agencies, local authorities, and resource organisations.
The 4 pillars of the network:
- Developing professional opportunities and cooperation between members and between networks
- Raising awareness of the realities and threats to Europe’s independent cultural and media sector
- Providing network members with tools on contemporary and sectors’ challenges (ecology, equality, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, international cooperation, consolidating economic models, digital issues, etc.)
- Contributing to the co-construction of new public policies in line with the contemporary issues and adapted to the independent cultural and media sectors

The body of work was intended as a sensitive cartography of independent realities in Europe. Divided into two parts, it aims both to explore specific situations across the continent in a collection of articles, interviews, and varied portraits divided in 8 topic-based volumes (Part 1), and to argue for improvements and developments in the funding systems and in the recognition processes of independent cultural and media structures on a European scale (Part 2).
